Day One Challenge: Stay Hydrated

Today we begin our Healthy Foundations challenge as we begin the New Year of 2022!

There’s something incredibly powerful about a clean slate. I feel like each day, week, month presents itself with opportunity for change, so if you’re reading this on a random day of the week in the middle of the year, you can begin day one of the challenge just the same. A clean slate is powerful. Take this moment to really embrace loving yourself more throughout our journey together over the next 22 days.

Our main priority of this health challenge is simply taking better care of yourself and I love how we kick things off.

Today, we will be focusing on our water intake.

Set a goal for yourself on how much water you will want to consume by the time you go to bed tonight. This area of focus we will repeat, but going into it I want to help you understand why it’s so important for you health.

A few benefits of proper hydration:

  • Helps you feel more energized and focused.

  • Helpful to your digestion and keeping things moving along.

  • Can help with weight loss/management.

  • Supports detoxification in the body.

  • Better skin health.

So cheers! Time to flush out whatever has been clogging up our systems from all the indulgences of December and start fresh!

Here’s my favorite morning water habit.

Fill a large glass, or even pitcher with filtered water. Squeeze a whole lemon into it. Try to drink this before coffee, tea, or juice.

Work on consuming half your body weight in ounces of water today. A quick google search can help you with the calculations for the bottles or containers you have.
