Day 14 Challenge: Meal Plan

Today’s challenge focuses on our nutrition, but in such a way that takes the guess work out of what’s for dinner. It also falls on a day, (Sunday) that I personally take the time to map out our meals for most of the week. I take in consideration activities we have planned, events, and utilizing leftovers to stretch our grocery budget.

Which reminds me, I want to emphasize how eating healthy doesn’t need to be expensive or overly time consuming. If you keep it simple and create a plan, you are well on your way!

Here’s why it’s important to take time to meal plan:

  • Saves you time during the week from thinking about what to eat for dinner.

  • Save you money with utilizing more of what you already have to use up and buying only what you need.

  • Creates less wasteful food when you put your leftover into your meal plan, or use for lunches the next day.

  • Helps you stay on track with eating more wholesome, healthy food, and not giving into as many cravings.

You will discover some of your own reasons to appreciate creating the habit to meal plan each week. Today’s challenge is to meal plan the next 3 days. Think of what you plan on eating for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and write it out.

I also like to make a quick list of things to pick up or order from the grocery store. This also cuts down on the frequency of stops at the store, since you’ll know exactly what you’ll be cooking up.

Let me know how it goes this week with your meal planning! Not sure what to make? Take a peek at my dinner Pinterest board for some healthy ideas, many of which are on rotation.
