Health Benefits of Cinnamon Bark Oil

I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of cinnamon, the spice that can be picked up at nearly every grocery store, but have you heard of the health benefits of cinnamon essential oil? Or how to use it?

First, cinnamon oil is different than the spice because it’s much more potent and it contains other beneficial plant compounds not found in the dried spice. So this oil beauty you'll want to put to work for you for the following reasons:

-Supports healthy metabolic function
-Helps to maintain a healthy immune system
-Used in flavoring dishes add to different foods, desserts and hot drinks.
-Soothes irritated throats
-Useful in dental health, make into a mouthwash by adding a few drops to a mason jar of water.
-Effective natural cleaner, add a few drops into a spray bottle with water.
-Warming massage oil, mix with fractionated coconut oil and massage onto sore muscles and joints.
-Repels insects, diffuse or make into a spray to keep the pests away.

Some of my personal favorite uses of cinnamon bark oil (besides diffusing it in a diffuser, the warm aroma is SO good) is adding it to my morning coffee. Iced or hot cinnamon oil is a delicious way to get the metabolic benefits. It also helps to curb sugar cravings, which helps to support health and weight management goals.
Safety note: always dilute cinnamon oil, as it's known as a “hot oil,” which can be uncomfortable if used directly onto skin. Add 1 drop per tablespoon of fractionated coconut oil if using topically.
Also, be sure the essential oils are sourced properly and tested for purity. We use doTERRA because of they have the most rigorous essential oil testing in the industry and source their oils from the best areas around the world, working directly with the growers.
