Health Benefits of Clove Essential Oil
Did you know Clove oil is an antioxidant powerhouse?
If you’ve heard about antioxidants, but aren’t exactly sure why they’re important let me cover that term first. Antioxidants are molecules that help to reverse the damage caused by free radicals in our body. Antioxidants can help to slow the aging process and protect the body’s immune system.
Clove has a warm, spicy aroma that makes it the perfect essential oil to have for your fall + winter diffuser blends. But let’s dive into some of the other health benefits that pure Clove essential oil offers up and ways to use it.
Clove is excellent for oral health. Add a drop into a spoonful of coconut oil to add to oil pulling and give your mouth a good clean. Clove is also found in the OnGuard mouthwash, but you can also add some oil to a mason jar with water to swish around.
Clove oil is a perfect addition to your oils for green cleaning. Add a few drops of clove with your favorite citrus oil to pack in a bigger cleaning punch, as well as give it the fall/holiday aroma that's warming.
Clove oil should always be used with a carrier oil when applied topically. It has benefits to the skin and to the body, but it is known as a "hot" oil. This means it can feel very uncomfortable on the skin if applied undiluted. This is a great one to blend ahead of time in a roller bottle to apply to bottoms of feet, or areas on the skin that you'd like to support with Clove.
So grab your Clove essential oil and drip it into your next diffuser blend, or roll it on your skin (diluted!). There are so many benefits for putting this oil to use.
